The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) was established in April 2006 and hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. To enhance Hong Kong’s “cutting edge”, they have the funding support from Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSAR Government. HKRITA engages in applied research to support the textile and apparel industry in order to boost their overall competitiveness, and to drive sustainable improvements and bring benefits for society. By providing one-stop services for applied research, technology transfer and commercialisation, HKRITA makes sustained efforts to promote successful projects for industry application. HKRITA is also supported by institutes, companies and associations in the textile and clothing industry in Hong Kong, mainland China and other countries.

To foster sustainability in the retail and textile ecosystem in Hong Kong, LUXARITY focuses on supporting research project addressing the Sustainable Development Goals underlying the LUXARITY R.A.W. Values of: Responsibility.

LUXARITY is pledging to raise $150,000 HKD to support HKRITA’s 2019 research project focused on recycling & up-cycling textiles.

Our world and our community have huge sustainability challenges.

HKRITA is excited about our collaboration with LUXARITY because we believe that real world solutions are only possible with great partnerships, shared resources, and community engagement.

By enabling great thinking and research together we can not only make a difference here, but lead the change for our industry.

Mr. Edwin Keh, Chief Executive Officer, HKRITA
